Get involved

The White Rose Forest is planting more trees than ever before thanks to the support of individuals, businesses and community groups across Yorkshire. If you live in West or North Yorkshire then the White Rose Forest is your local community forest and we are working for you and with many of you to plant trees that will benefit us all. By supporting the White Rose Forest you are also helping to grow the Northern Forest that will stretch from Merseyside to the Yorkshire coast.

As a partnership organisation, supported by all local authorities as well as many tree planting charities, businesses and community groups in Yorkshire, we are uniquely placed to help you get involved in tree planting in your local area, wherever you live in Yorkshire. Whether you would like to become a volunteer, make a donation or sponsor a new woodland, we can find a project near you and put you in touch with the best local contact.

Plant trees on your land

The White Rose Forest team is available to support landowners and their agents to develop tree planting and woodland creation projects across West and North Yorkshire. We can help you develop your project from an initial idea to the planting of well-designed, suitably funded new woodland.

Make a donation

You can help Yorkshire grow the White Rose Forest. All donations to the White Rose Forest will help us plant more trees and work with volunteers through our 1000 Tree Challenge events each planting season.

Volunteers planting trees in Dewsbury

It is down to the hard work and dedication of volunteers that millions of trees are planted in Yorkshire between November and March each year. Whether you want to help improve your neighbourhood or volunteer with friends or colleagues, during each planting season we can help connect you with a local tree planting project that will value your support.

Tree planting takes place between November and March each year. To find out about tree planting opportunities in your area please contact us.

The team at City of Trees, the community forest in Greater Manchester, has developed a series of useful ‘How to’ guides that cover topics from how create a community woodland group to how to protect and preserve your local trees and woodland.

Business supporters

Supporting the White Rose Forest through your business is a great way to give back to the community where your business operates. Your support will not only help improve the natural environment, but could also boost the local economy, increase staff morale and give you a really good news story.
