Our work

Landscapes for Water and Green Streets® are the two priority tree planting programmes supported by the White Rose Forest partnership in North and West Yorkshire. You can find out more about these programmes below.

Landscapes for Water

The Landscapes for Water programme provides a strategic approach to natural flood management in North and West Yorkshire and focuses on the creation of new woodland in key river valleys or catchments to help reduce flood risk for communities further downstream.

Planting trees along our river corridors also enhances biodiversity, improves water quality and helps to protect riverbanks. The programme focusses on larger scale woodland creation within priority river valleys or catchments in North and West Yorkshire as part of landscape scale change.

Green Streets®

Urban tree planting

The Green Streets® programme focusses on urban tree planting and management. It aims to improve air quality, make our urban spaces more attractive for businesses and investment, and encourage the uptake of active travel, linking areas of deprivation to education and employment sites.
