1000 Tree Challenge
community planting events
Take on a White Rose Forest 1000 Tree Challenge and help make a difference for our environment and communities here in Yorkshire.
Are you ready for a challenge?
Would you like to team up with friends, fellow volunteers or colleagues to try and plant 1000 trees in one day?
We can’t think of a better excuse to get out in the fresh air, learn some new skills and most importantly help our precious natural environment.
1000 Tree Challenge Events take place across North and West Yorkshire during planting season (November to March each year). Lead by experienced local community groups, these half or full day events offer a great way to get involved in tree planting. You’ll be planting trees on an approved White Rose Forest site where the new woodland will be looked after for many years to come. No previous experience is needed and all equipment will be provided on the day.
How can I get involved?
Between November and March each year you can register your interest in taking part in a 1000 Tree Challenge event via the contact us page on this website. Please complete the volunteer form and we will put you in touch with one of our partners organising an event closest to you. Please be aware that spaces are limited and event locations depend on where our current projects are taking place.
1000 Tree Challenge events for businesses
You can help support 1000 Tree Challenge events through your business by making a donation and volunteering with your team.
- It costs £1200 to run a 1000 Tree Challenge event and we will match fund every £600 donation.
- As well as creating a new area of woodland, each event provides an opportunity for the local community to spend a day in nature and learn about the important role of trees in protecting and improving our natural environment.
- Each event contributes to an approved White Rose Forest woodland creation project and is lead by an experienced local organisation to make sure trees are planted correctly and in line with the project requirements.
- For more information visit our Business Supporter information page or contact us.
